Guide to getting around Raglan with ease

April 24, 2026

A handy new guide designed to make getting around Whāingaroa Raglan easier is set to hit the streets this month, with Go Raglan releasing an updated parking map alongside practical tips for walking, cycling and catching the bus.

Encouraging locals and visitors alike to rethink how they move around town, especially during busy periods, the guide highlights just how accessible Raglan’s key spots really are.

The new map also reflects detailed local insight, with Waikato District Councillor Lisa Thomson taking to the streets around Raglan and counting every available public car park.

“Getting out on foot and seeing it for myself gave a really clear picture of how much parking we actually have and where the pressure points are,” she says. “What it showed is that while parking can feel tight at peak times, there are often spaces available if people are willing to walk a little further or consider other ways of getting around.”

Alongside clearly marked parking areas, the flier includes information on walking routes, cycle access and public transport, helping people choose what works best for them.

The release of the guide also ties in with the recent Go Raglan tourism and events community consultation, which gathered feedback from more than 250 respondents over the summer. A key theme to emerge was the need to better manage traffic and improve the overall visitor and local experience, particularly during peak times.

By combining updated information with easy alternatives to driving, the new guide will support a smoother, more enjoyable experience for everyone.

The parking map and guide is available on the Raglan iHUB site and at the Raglan iHUB, open daily 10am – 3pm.
