Shocktober initiative aims to teach CPR skills

September 28, 2023

Every day six people will have a cardiac arrest outside hospital care. Only one in 10 will survive.

Hato Hone St John is on a mission to teach as many kiwis as possible important CPR skills throughout the month of October.

Hato Hone St John’s initiative called Shocktober aims to teach as many kiwis as possible the valuable CPR skills they can apply to those who are in need. From the bottom of the South Island to the top of the North Island and extending into isolated and vulnerable communities, Hato Hone St John will be delivering free training sessions utilizing aspects of the 3 steps for life programme.

To find out where and when these events are happening, keep an eye out at www.stjohn.org.nz. You could learn the skills to make a life saving difference in your community.
