Raglan Children’s Day

March 14, 2025

Raglan delivered sunshine, smiles and laughter at Papahua Domain, Marine Parade, on Sunday, 2 March, as locals celebrated Children’s Day.

The community event created the perfect atmosphere for young families and grandparents to enjoy a relaxing day at the beach, topped off with refreshing swims to cool down in the afternoon.

Attendees enjoyed free rides and treats, including a sausage sizzle, popcorn, ice blocks, bananas and cold drinks generously provided by Fresh Choice Raglan, Elixir Social Agency, Kama West Coast, Sweet As Popcorn and the Harbour View Hotel.

The diversity of cultures represented at the event highlighted the positive message that treating all children equally helps nurture inclusivity and understanding.

Special recognition went to the event marshals, who achieved Children’s Day Event certification, and the Waikato District Council team, whose combined efforts demonstrated strong community collaboration. Don Rangiaawha was also acknowledged for blessing the event’s opening.

Organisers praised everyone’s contributions, saying it was an excellent example of local mahi.
