Local films light up the big screen

July 17, 2026

Entrants, sponsors and locals recently gathered at the Raglan Town Hall for an evening of old-fashioned cinema charm as the Raglan Arts Film Festival Awards (RAFFA) celebrated this year’s winners.

The audiences were treated to a wide range of genres, from drama and documentary to romance, queer cinema, animation and thriller, showcasing the creativity and diversity of filmmakers connected to the community.

As always, the true winners on the night were the local filmmakers, actors, animators and storytellers whose work lit up the big screen, demonstrating the depth of creative talent in our community.

The judges were blown away by the exceptional standard of entries this year, making the task of selecting winners both challenging and rewarding.

Cash prizes and the coveted Chris Meek trophies were presented to the outstanding films and filmmakers recognised for their achievements.
