A Regular Yoga Practice is not only good for the body but also the mind. It can lessen chronic pain, such as lower back pain, arthritis and headaches can also lower blood pressure and reduce insomnia.
Other physical benefits of yoga include:
- Increased flexibility
- Increased muscle strength and tone
- Increased energy and vitality
- Respiratory health
- Maintaining a balanced metabolism
- Weight reduction
- Cardio and circulatory health
- Improved athletic performance
- Protection from injury
Aside from the physical benefits, one of the best benefits of yoga is how it helps a person manage stress, which is known to have devastating effects on the body and mind. Stress can reveal itself in many ways, including back or neck pain, sleeping problems, headaches and an inability to concentrate. Yoga can be very effective in developing coping skills and reaching a more positive outlook on life.
Because there are so many different kinds of yoga practices, it is possible for anyone to start.
What we offer
The Raglan Yoga loft is a warm and welcoming space and has many different yoga styles on offer as well as regular Pilates classes and meditation. There is something on for everyone from the beginner to the more advanced yogi.
For those first-time students, this week we have a beginner’s course starting with Holly. This class is open to all and will be a really great opportunity to have a little taste of what yoga is all about. It will run on Thursdays from 5.45pm to 7pm.
Many of our teachers draw from their skilled backgrounds in many modalities including naturopathy, massage therapy, nursing, physiotherapy and nutrition.
Here at the Raglan Yoga loft our vision is to be holistic, foster holistic health, be community focused and to provide a balance of physical, mental and spiritual nourishment for each individual student.
Teenagers under 15 are welcome to come to classes free accompanied by an adult or at a reduced rate of $5 if attending alone. All first-time Raglan residents with a physical address can take advantage of our 10-day unlimited yoga deal for $25, so you can check out which classes work for you. Keep an eye on our Raglan Yoga Loft Facebook page and website for regular workshops and timetable updates.
