Better Buses meeting planned for Raglan

July 17, 2026

A public meeting will be held at the Raglan Town Hall Supper Room on Sunday 19 July at 4pm to discuss how bus services between Raglan and Hamilton could be improved.

Organisers say Waikato Regional Council is preparing to award new bus contracts that could shape the service for the next decade, while current timetables continue to leave peak buses crowded and offer limited options at other times.

Councillor Lisa Thomson will speak about the issue and the roles of Waikato District Council and the Raglan Community Board.

The meeting is also expected to include workshop discussions. Participants will also discuss whether a longer-term campaign or formal group is needed and agree on possible next steps.
