A woman facing charges for shoplifting in Soul Shoes is one of Hamilton’s “most prolific offenders”, say police, who attribute her arrest to the store’s high-quality security camera system.

Stink raised over dumping of fish frames

Dumping fish frames at Raglan Wharf’s boat ramp is unacceptable and needs to stop, says resident Marie de Jong, who is sick of the sight of fish carcasses floating in the water.

“It’s just gross,” says the Soul Shoes owner and Silos resident, who no longer swims at the boat ramp because of it and wants council to make it an illegal practice.

Local marae receives artistic makeover

When Te Wānanga o Aotearoa kaiako Regan Balzer was younger, she was part of a rangatahi group involved in activities at Te Kopua Marae in Whaingaroa, attending events like the Te Ao Mārama festival and the Proud To Be Māori hui.
