Tarot Talk – Nine of Wands

June 14, 2018

Hello again from Tarot Talk – a weekly column in which I introduce a Tarot card for the week and provide a little information about it.  I hope you continue to enjoy this space. This week’s card is the Nine of Wands.  This card shows someone standing, almost defensively, waiting for a new problem or conflict to appear.  You have fought long and hard to get where you are and endured many challenges along the way.  The Nine of Wands is sometimes called the “wounded soldier”.

9 Wands

This card can say that the final battle is an internal one in which you come to grips with sources of fear and conflict that come not from outside but from within.  It can also represent the very fine line between being adequately prepared and being defensive.

Establishing you boundaries both at work and in relationships is fine but defensiveness can keep us in a negative space which is not helpful.  Life’s lessons can be hard sometimes but try not to become jaded or bitter. Sometimes this card indicates that you have accomplished something but find it hard to accept your achievements, your strengths and your talents.
